The deal will apply to all firms who move in between January and the end of the financial year in March.

The firm have stated that there is no minimum contract and that all companies who are interested will be eligible for the offer. The firm have also stated that any firms who wish to move away from the original offices they have rented can do so providing they give Basepoint at least two weeks notice.

Basepoint’s initiative comes after a polling report by YouGov stated that as many as one in three businesses could be hugely affected by the rise in VAT.

The executive director of Basepoint, Brian Andrews stated that the company’s thinking related to supporting small and growing businesses while hopefully encouraging the local economy to flourish.

Mr Andrews said: “The VAT increase is likely to hit small firms the hardest, particularly those which are not yet VAT registered, and so we hope this offer will act as an incentive for businesses that would otherwise not have been able to take the decision to expand into an office or workshop, to take that step and grow.”

Basepoint is the trading arm of the ACT Foundation, the UK grant making charity. All profits made by the company are reinvested into charitable causes which assist the most vulnerable.
