Regus to open 200 new office space locations

Regus has announced it more than doubled operating profits in 2011.

On the back of last year’s success, the serviced office provider will open 200 new locations this year.

Serviced office provider Regus has announced it is to open 200 new Rent office space office spaceoffice space locations this year after it doubled its profits in 2011.

The firm announced it had made pre-tax profits of £45.5 million and operating profits of £50.6 million last year after experiencing growth in nearly every sector. The firm reported the results had been helped by a 12% rise in sales and an 8% rise in occupancy levels. (more…)

New Northumberland offices for Tero Marine UK

Tero Marine UK have moved into bigger offices in the north east of England.

The UK arm of an international firm has relocated to offices in the north east of England because its previous commercial site was too small for them.

Tero Marine UK have chosen to take on new office space in the Apex Business Village in Annitsford, Cramlington after they outgrew their previous offices in Blyth.

Their move into Northumberland Rent office space office spaceoffice space will see them take on three jobs which are to be created as part of the move after surveyors Bradley Hall found the ideal premises for them.

Nose picking most annoying office habit

Poor hygiene is a source of annoyance for employees.

Staff do not like colleagues who break wind at their desks.

Nose picking is the biggest office bugbear for UK workers, according to a recent poll.

Just under 30% of those who participated in the survey, compiled by DealJungle.com, said they find nose picking to be the most annoying office habit followed by nail biting. Smelly co-workers were found to be another source of irritation with 17% of respondents voting body odour as another irksome issue in the workplace.

One out of ten people admitted to being annoyed by colleagues who clear their throat at their desks and those who bring smelly food in for lunch. (more…)

Although a large proportion of prime office rents in the city remained at around £27.50 per sq ft, some rents fell to £20-£25 per sq ft according to the report. Drivers Jonas Deloitte also revealed that total occupational take up in Birmingham hit just under 700,000 sq ft across 141 deals last year – a number remarkably close to the total for 2010. (more…)

A unique office block has been created using 37 used storage containers in Sunderland.

Sustainable Enterprise Strategies will use the unusual space which was created by Clugston Construction.

Dubbed i+, the tower will cost £14 million to construct and will consist of 160,000 sq ft spread across seven floors.

Developer Allied London has announced it is to build a brand new seven storey office tower in the heart of Manchester city centre.

The i+ site at Spinningfields will create 160,000 sq ft of space and has been designed to appeal exclusively to firms in the media and tech industries. According to the firm’s chief executive Mike Ingall the tower will be like “seven warehouses on top of each other” on Hardman Boulevard. (more…)
