Manchester has secured its first two tenants.
Barton Willmore and Datalex have both agreed to take office space in the 10 storey office building in Spinningfields.
Allied London has announced it has secured its primary two tenants for its new Tower 12 office block in Manchester.
Planning consultancy Barton Willmore and travel software company Datalex have both signed up to lease office space in the newly completed office building at Avenue North, Spinningfields. Formerly known as Manchester House, Tower 12 consists of retail space and 40,000 sq ft of office space across ten floors.
According to reports out this week Barton Willmore and Datalex will lease around 5,000 sq ft between them in the newly refurbished building which is due to be completed in April. Designed by Sheppard Robson, the top floor of the tower is being retained for Spinningfields Business Club and will act as an airport style lounge which members can pay for by the hour.
Commenting on the decision to lease space in Tower 12, Barton Willmore partner at the Manchester office Dan Mitchell said: “We are very excited to move into a new office space to accommodate our expanding team in Manchester and take advantage of the many opportunities across the North West. Tower 12 will give us a high quality contemporary space in which to grow as a business in the heart of the city.”
In addition to 40,000 sq ft of office space, Tower 12 is also home to around 35,000 sq ft of floor space across 10 retail and leisure units – of which five restaurants are currently under offer according to Allied London chief executive Mike Ingall.
“Tower 12 is set to become another significant landmark on the Spinngingfields estate and securing our first two commercial occupiers shows the new product is already creating a market for itself well before completion. The building is going to be a very special place to work and do business by the summer. Tower 12 is more than just work space. It goes to show that if the product is carefully considered and designed, it can be successful and attract different commercial operators who see and share our vision,” he commented.
