A new £70 million office space development is to be built on the edge of Liverpool’s commercial district.
Developer West Bay Capital received planning permission from the council this week for two new buildings at 30 Pall Mall. The two buildings, designed by architect Broadway Malyan, have been praised for their modern architecture and design.
One building will be 8 storeys while the other will be 18 storeys high. They’ll be linked by a courtyard with ground-floor property expected to be rented for retail. The new development will bring about 228,000 square feet of office space, with the retail area providing 19,100 square feet of space for rent.
Developers are hoping the project will kick-start business in the commercial area and help Liverpool’s economy to pick back up. It’s hoped this scheme could help to place Liverpool in a prominent position in the European office space market. Liverpool are hoping this could be the new office space for 5000 workers at the Ministry of Justice who are moving from London.
Ashley Moore, director of West Bay said, “The city has a strong offer in terms of skills, infrastructure and quality of life; we can now offer them a world class building that will meet all of the MoJ’s requirements”.
