Facebook has announced plans to relocate its London base from Soho to Covent Garden.

The social media giant will lease a 36,000 sq ft building in Central London in 2012.

Facebook has announced it will relocate its current London base off Carnaby Street in Soho to Covent Garden in January 2012.

The social networking conglomerate has shunned Shoreditch’s Silicon Roundabout in favour of a 36,000 sq ft listed office property in the heart of Central London. In addition to the relocation of its 70-strong UK advertising sales team, the company is expected to recruit new staff as part of the expansion in the next 12 months. (more…)

The commercial property law firm Fladgate has announced plans to relocate to new office space in Covent Garden.

The firm have signed a deal to take 41,750 sq ft over 5 floors at 16 Great Queen Street in WC2. As part of the relocation, the firm will move employees from their current offices in Mayfair to the newer, more modern commercial property in one of Central London‘s most illustrious areas. Fladgate say the move, which sees the company take on 10,000 extra sq ft of office space, was necessary to meet future growth and expansion plans. (more…)
