office space could be on the verge of taking off.
Property development group Town Centre Securities has reportedly submitted plans to convert the historic Grade II listed Brownsfield Mill, located on Great Ancoats Street, into a new complex offering leisure, retail and office space.

The Enterprise Zone centered around
Manchester Airport could help to create over 10,000 jobs in addition to delivering 1.2m sq. ft. of new
office space according to the Manchester Airport Group (MAG).
Part of a £650m scheme that will be known as Airport City North and cover 110 acres close to Manchester Airport, the development will form what is described as the “core” of Manchester’s Enterprise Zone which first received confirmation from the UK government in early 2011.

According to consultants GVA,
Manchester could be the latest city to be forced to cope with an undersupply of Grade A
office space next year.
In a study called ‘Tipping Point’, GVA has identified that regardless of new build schemes the demand could well outstrip the supply in 2013.

Manchester is facing a shortage of grade A
office space according to a report published earlier this month, as overall availability in the city centre continues to decrease.
Having seen the amount of available office space decrease by 54% over the last two years, it is suggested that investors will need to reactivate mothballed developments or begin new projects to address the issue.

151 Products, a discount goods manufacturer, has relocated its HQ to new offices in a converted Victorian building in Ancoats,
Manchester.
Believed to have sold for around £1 million, the building offers 12,702 square feet of
office space, showroom space and laboratory space for the budget supplier that serves Poundland and other high street discount stores.

It is expected that the cost of

Manchester could rise far beyond the rate of inflation if it continues at its current rate.
Property consultants, Savills, have released a statement claiming that the average cost of an office in Manchester has risen at twice the rate of inflation since 2011 and that it shows no sign of slowing down.

office space in the 10 storey office building in Spinningfields.
Allied London has announced it has secured its primary two tenants for its new Tower 12 office block in Manchester.
Planning consultancy Barton Willmore and travel software company Datalex have both signed up to lease office space in the newly completed office building at Avenue North, Spinningfields. Formerly known as Manchester House, Tower 12 consists of retail space and 40,000 sq ft of office space across ten floors. (more…)

Manchester.
Dubbed i+, the tower will cost £14 million to construct and will consist of 160,000 sq ft spread across seven floors.
Developer Allied London has announced it is to build a brand new seven storey office tower in the heart of Manchester city centre.
The i+ site at Spinningfields will create 160,000 sq ft of space and has been designed to appeal exclusively to firms in the media and tech industries. According to the firm’s chief executive Mike Ingall the tower will be like “seven warehouses on top of each other” on Hardman Boulevard. (more…)
Property developer Bruntwood is believed to be in advanced talks to acquire
Manchester Science Parks.
In addition to taking ownership, Bruntwood plans to double the size of the campus in the next decade.
Property developer Bruntwood is believed to be in advanced discussions to acquire a majority interest in Manchester Science Parks.
The Manchester Evening News reports that in addition to taking a controlling stake, the firm also plans to double the size of the 240,000 sq ft Corridor campus near Oxford Road in the next decade. VTR North to invest £500,000 in new
Manchester office.
The company will convert 3000 sq ft of
office space on John Dalton Street into a mixed use facility.
Keen to capitalise on the media boom created by the BBC in the north west, VTR North have announced they are to open a new office in Manchester city centre.
The
Leeds-based firm which produces visual effects for adverts and counts Jet2 and ToysRUs as clients will lease 3000 sq ft of office space on John Dalton Street. As part of the lease, VTR North will convert space in the Grade II listed Victorian building into a mixed use facility where they will provide visual effects and editing for TV producers. (more…)
