Office space in Manchester is to be the most sought after in the country during 2012 according to a report by analysts Jones Lang LaSalle, with the city expected to stay ahead of the UK throughout the next 12 months.
The north west market meanwhile will fall slightly below the overall projected growth of the UK claim the JLL analysts, who gave their UK Economic & Property report out to the financial and property community in Manchester.

Record office leasing deal for Bruntwood in Liverpool.
Office specialists in Liverpool sign record breaking office leasing contract.
Property and office specialist Bruntwood has signed the biggest letting of office space in the North West for 2011. The contract was exchanged with law firm Weightmans for 94,000 square feet of office space at the Plaza, Liverpool. The deal is the largest to be seen in the UK all year and has attracted a lot of attention from the commercial property sector. The lease is a long term 15 year contract and will see the company take charge of some of the highest quality office space in Liverpool.
The deal is also one of the largest ever for Bruntwood not the mention the largest private sector lease in Liverpool for an astonishing six years. Over the past eight years Bruntwood has invested a huge £24 million into the Plaza including the £2.4 million reception entrance that was subsequently relocated to St Paul’s Square. (more…)
The property firm ‘Bizspace’ has spoken out about the difficulties that north-west business owners face finding new office space once the recession is over. The 2008 empty property rate relief scrappage has left property companies unwilling to invest in speculative developments up and down the country. Some companies have even demolished buildings to to avoid the taxation policy.
Bizspace operates out of the north-west region and manages more than 7 million square-feet of office space, including studio space and industrial units. (more…)
