The CTP ST James Development Company has let 15,000 square feet of prime
office space, which some think signals success for the Wakefield waterfront development.
Lord St Oswald, who opened the site last year, has said that the location used to be an unused and sad site but now it represents “a new upsurge of energy in the city.”
The office building, in Wakefield; Yorkshire, has been let to Wakefield Council. Wakefield Council has subsequently sub-let the building to Redcats UK, the mail order company.

Capitol Park, Barnsley, is to be the new headquarters for the company ‘Finance Yorkshire’.
Finance Yorkshire, a £90 million fund, was developed to support Yorkshire and Humberside businesses by offering investments ranging from £15,000 to £2 million.
The finance company will be signing a 10-year lease for 4,200 sq-ft of
office space in Capitol Court, Barnsley.
Finance Yorkshire is thought to become a significant part of Capitol Park, by helping to establish the park as a reputable business park.

New developers are reported to be taking over the halted Belle Vue Mills development in Skipton, Yorkshire.
Changes in plans allowed the project to continue once more after a pause, now there will be more
office space on the development rather than flats, as well as a change in leisure and retail use. Rushbond, a

A new report out this week shows that confidence in the letting and sales of
office space is increasing in Yorkshire.
The report, based on figures gained by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, showed that 33% of surveyors in the area were reporting a rise in activity against – 6% in July. This could be the biggest hint yet that business confidence in the UK is rising, slowly but surely, and could mark the start of the recovery of the British economy. (more…)
