Jones Lang LaSalle has declared that it believes Yorkshire is in a prime position to cash in on the total absence of first class
office space.
At a business leader summit that took place yesterday, Head of Industrial and Logistics, Richard Harris, told those gathered that Yorkshire was in possession of more than one third of all warehouse space in the UK.

An abandoned reservoir is to be turned into green
office space in East Yorkshire.
Plans have been unveiled for Watershed in North Ferriby which will boast a host of eco-friendly credentials.
A forgotten reservoir in East Yorkshire is to be turned into an eco-friendly office space facility according to reports out this week.
Developer and chartered engineer Richard Bennett has unveiled plans to transform the reservior in North Ferriby into modern work space which will build on the site’s existing green credentials. He hopes to turn the reservoir, which is set below ground level, into one of the most innovative eco-buildings in the North of England. (more…)

Bruntwood’s office portfolio value has increased by 4% over the last year.
Family firm Bruntwood have filed their financial results for the year ending in September 2010 with the company demonstrating a strong showing in the commercial property field.
The leasing company has offices across the north and west of the UK including sites in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the West Midlands regions.
Office space leasing by new companies rose by 28%, while Bruntwood’s offices have seen an increase in their value by 4% compared to the previous year, meaning they have £948 million worth of office assets.

Nestle are due to create more jobs and
office space in York.
The City of York is waiting for the city council to officially give the go ahead for plans to create new jobs and increase office space in the historic area.
Confectionery giant Nestle is due to build shops, homes and offices as part of a plan to increase the site it has in York, a move which should also safeguard nearly 2,000 jobs in the region.
Over 108,000 square foot of office space will be created on the southern part of the Nestle site should the plans be accepted by the city council, with officers having already given their approval for plans.

Demand for serviced
office space in Yorkshire and Humberside has experienced an increase. Enquiries from businesses increased by 25% from last year’s figures, with 2009 figures showing a 7% decrease.
The economy has thankfully seen a recovery, though it has been slow to turn around. This recovery coupled with a growing interest in the commercial property market has given much relief to the 225 serviced office providers that reside in Yorkshire and Humberside.
